How is the blood collection?

Venous blood collection can only be performed by the veterinarian. The dog or cat must be fasted within the previous 12 hours. The sample may be taken from a vein in the inner limb (cephalic), a vein in the hind limb (femoral), or from the jugular vein in the neck.
